It’s all about theatre lately! Upcoming I’ll appearing in Chicken Grease is Nasty Business, at the SummerWorks festival, August 7 – 17, 2014. In October/November 2014, I am producing 30 People Watching. Mark those calendars folks!
So I took a break and I’m back. Check me out as a part of Les Femmes Fatales on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Baltic Avenue. I will be performing a burlesque number inspired by Flashdance! Also save July 20 where I’ll be doing a reading at the Habari Africa Festival. Very exciting!
I am a tired Diva, so I am taking a break, for real. Before my hiatus, check me out in the Heels on Wheels Roadshow in their Toronto stop on April 14, 2014 at The Tranzac. So excited to do this show! I made a femme penpal in Brooklyn who visited over the holidays and she told me about this show that she was involved. Then they asked me to be one of their local acts! Yay!
April 14, 2014 is also declared #femme14, so honour one of the femmes in your life that day.
Omg! February kicked my butt. Fo real. I performed at 4 different shows (Les Femme Fatales, Queer Futures at Rhubarb Festival, Blackphonics at Glad Day and Write On! Black History month celebration) I even got my little picture in the paper – Now Magazine.
So Last Dance returns for a one nighter on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 7pm, performed in American Sign Language by Elizabeth Morris and me and Kobena and Adam and good times ahead. See more info here! This is very exciting.
I already got things planned for 2014! Save February 14 for a burlesque performance coordinated by the fabulous Dainty Box and then I am performing and co-curating at Rhubarb, a special Queer Futures Cabaret. More info to come.
Last Dance came and it was fabulous! More news to come. Catch me on December 6 at a cabaret at Glad Day Bookstore with Troy Jackson. Also, stay tuned for news on Last Dance at a wheelchair accessible location and collaboration with Elizabeth Morris (a performer who is Deaf).
